Glossary of  FindAustralia Weblocator/UGLii Find System Terms

The FindAustralia/UGLii Find System is a big step away from any other online directory system. To understand GBLink/UGLii Find System comprehensively you may need to understand some of these terms. These definitions are not legal definitions as used in our agreements and business rules.

"Affiliate" is a website that presents GBLink/UGLii Find for the use of searchers and through which a business can register in the system. A GBLink Affiliate has a commercial relationship with GBLink.

"Affiliate System” is the UGLii Find sub-system that manages relationships between Affiliates and Partners and the system. It creates contracts between the Affiliate and Partner and manages billing.

"UGLii Find Partner" means any entity that has been appointed by UGLii Find System Pty Ltd to market UGLii Find System globally, GBLink is an example.

"Business" means a person or corporation that meets registration requirements to do business in a nation. For example in Australia a business must have an ABN. A business can be a community organisation or a government or local government but they all need an ABN to register.

"Registration Information" means information recorded on the UGLii Find System about the legal entity that has registered (person, company, trust etc) for the purposes of record keeping by the system. This information is not divulged by the system to searchers.

"Discovery Information" means information including contact details, location information and codes and keywords by which a place of business (UGLii) may be discovered in the GBLink/UGLii Find System. This package of information is called an UGLii. A Business may create more than one UGLii for free.

"Credential" means a word or code attached to an UGLii by a third party also registered in the UGLii Find System by which the UGLii can be discovered in the UGLii Find system. Examples are

·   A brand owner credentialing places of business (UGLiis) that sell its brand of products.

·   A credit card system that shows businesses in the economy that accept its card.

·   A business organisation showing its members.

·   A business credentialing businesses that are its approved suppliers (for internal discovery only).

Any business in the economy that has registered in UGLii Find can, for a fee, present the UGLii Find system from its website branded as its own system for the presentation of businesses in the economy that it has credentialed.

"In Line Frame or I Frame" (this is not a GBLink/UGLii Find term) means an area of a web page of a Business Partner or Agent or Affiliate or business client in which the website displays the UGLii Find System whereby the website may use the balance of the page for its own branding or other purposes.

“Marketing Links Management System” This is a special system only accessible to UGLii Find Partners that provides the ability to market their own or third party business products and services to businesses registered in the System through GBLink.

"Mapping Partner" means MapInfo Corporation, the supplier of maps and mapping data for the UGLii Find System.

"National Commercial Manager" means the business appointed by UGLii Find to run the system in a country. In Australia that organization is UGLii Find Australia Limited (UFAL). UFAL runs these websites http://www.UGLiiFind.com.au and www.FindEngine.com.au.

"Place of Business" means the location where business is conducted by a business (UGLii). This is often not the same place as where the business is registered. A business can have more than one place of business (UGLii).

"Registered Entity" means a person, corporation or other entity registered to do business in an economy and may include a government, government department or agency or local government or community organization that is registered in the UGLii Find System.

"SA Value" or "Signature Association Value" is the unique UGLii code that identifies the website of an UGLii Find Partner or its Affiliate or a credentialing client within the UGLii Find System and presents the correct view of the UGLii Find System on that  website.

“UBACCS” means Universal Brand and Commodity Code System. UBACCS is largely under wraps until its global release in December 2007. It is not part of UGLii Find System but each system supports the other. The System is of benefit to all brand owning businesses and all businesses that sell branded products and services.

“UGLii” means Unique Geographical Listing for Industry and is the discovery information by which a place of business is discoverable in the UGLii Find System. UGLii information includes location information, key words, UBACCS codes, trading names, slogans, phone numbers etc.

"UGLii Find System Region" (Region) means a country or a group of countries that uses a common UGLii Find System that provides a common mapping system and common business database. Australia is the smallest economy that has its own UGLii Find System. All smaller economies are part of a Regional UGLii Find System.

"UGLii Find System Services" means services of the UGLii Find System provided by GBLink to a business that has registered in the UGLii Find System through GBLink website or one of GBLink’s Affiliates.

"UGLii Refreshment Period" means the period during which a business needs to check the correctness of its UGLii’s discovery information. If a business does not check its UGLii in that period the UGLii is down graded from a black UGLii  (high veracity) to a grey UGLii (lower veracity). UGLii Find System presents results in the results list with black UGLiis (black dots) above grey UGLiis because black dots are of higher veracity – the information is fresher.

“UGLii Refreshment Reminder” means an email reminder sent to a business registered in the UGLii Find System whose UGLii has not yet been checked by the business for correctness in the UGLii refreshment period.

"UGLii Link" means the UGLii Find System service whereby an UGLii is linked to a website relevant to the UGLii.  An UGLii with a Link is shown on the map as a blue UGLii (blue dot) and is listed in the results lists above black UGLii (high veracity but no link) and grey UGLiis (lower veracity).

"Unverified Free Listing" means an UGLii representing a place of business where that business owners details have been added to the System by a third party such as  an industry organisation that wants to promote its member businesses or a brand owner that needs to credential a business that is its reseller. In Australia even though the business must have an ABN and that ABN has been checked against the public ABN records the UGLii Find system presents its UGLiis as low veracity grey UGLiis. The business owner concerned can register in the System and take control of its UGLii in which case the colour of the UGLii becomes black – the colour of high veracity
